I keep doing this and it shows failed everytime? I'm on Monterey and this is driving me crazy – I just want to use the entire 4 TB drive for TM
ONE Issue: My Mac will not do what you show in this video! It's a brand new Macbook Air, and a brand new G-Drive. And the issue is not with the computer or the user, as I have done the process you show in this video with other external drives and it DOES work with those. What do you suggest?
I would just like to confirm that if I'm downgrading an operating system time machine can't help me if I've never used it before correct?

I am having the issue where the computer doesn't even read the drive that I plug in. I understand how formatting works for both PC and MAC but its almost like the cable isn't working (i know the cable works because I tested it on a different hard drive).
I have 2 G drives that I bought and they both power on, but they are invisible to every computer (mac or windows) that I plug them in to. Any idea? Its like they don't exist.
